UCLA College Transfer Alliance Program (TAP) Scholarship

For entering transfer students who have completed the Scholars/Honors Program at their community college and received certification, the Transfer Alliance Program (TAP) Scholarship is a longstanding UCLA College scholarship initiative.

To be eligible, applicants’ citizenship status must fall into one of the following categories:
(1) U.S. citizens;
(2) Eligible non-citizens as defined by UCLA Financial Aid Office regulations; or
(3) F1 visa holders or J1 visa holders.

Applicants must submit a FAFSA (https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa) or Dream Act Application (https://dream.csac.ca.gov/landing) and be eligible for need-based financial aid at UCLA. F1 and J1 visa holders will be notified regarding materials that must be submitted to establish financial need. Eligible non-citizen recipients and visa holders MUST verify their status prior to disbursement to remain in compliance with guidelines of the TAP Scholarship Program.

  4. Have you filed the FAFSA or Dream Act Application for the upcoming academic year and made it available to UCLA or are you an F-1 or J-1 visa holder who can provide verifiable documentation of financial need?
  5. What specific research and/or creative interests inspired you to continue your education, and how do you wish to pursue these interests? What are your goals after you complete your UCLA degree?
  6. Please upload a current resume that focuses on your key academic, leadership and community service experiences.
  7. Please write a 150-word bio in third person that summarizes your key academic interests and experiences and includes a brief statement of your intended major/minor and current career goals.
  8. What is your most up-to-date, overall community college GPA from all schools?
  9. Please upload a copy (PDF preferred) of your most recent unofficial community college transcripts. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SYTEM WILL NOT UPLOAD MORE THAN ONE DOCUMENT -- YOU WILL NEED TO MERGE DOCUMENTS INTO ONE BEFORE UPLOADING
  10. LETTER OF REFERENCE: Please provide a letter of support from an Honors/Scholars Program faculty member at your community college. Be sure to obtain permission from your recommender before submitting their name and email address. Your recommender will automatically receive a link prompting them to upload the recommendation via the UCLA Scholarship Portal. Letters from an Honors/Scholars Program Director, Coordinator or Counselor will also be accepted.
